Pine Lodge Garden Renovations
_
CAPA, as the lead landscape design team completed a new landscape master plan for one of Cottesloe’s pre-eminent historic residences and properties; Pine Lodge. The development process included discussions and approvals with the Town Of Cottesloe and received resounding support from the Heritage Council of Western Australia (HCWA) for its sensitive approach and quality.
The landscape is conceived as providing a stately ground for the residence, providing open space to the residence’s veranda curtilage and screening planting to the property’s boundaries.
A typology of landscape walls, cascading planters, water features smaller scale gardens/follies structured the landscape around the residence. The gardens became a theatre for the client’s sculptures, orchestrated with the landscape as a series of dramatic vignettes.
Stage One of the master plan has been completed including water features, elevated planters, boundary planters and two new gardens.
