Steven is a co-founding director of CAPA with Justin and responsible for the landscape direction, design and research in the office, with the belief that landscape and site are foundational to practice.

After graduating from the University of Western Australia with first class architectural honours in 1996, Steven worked in the Perth based architectural office of Donaldson + Warn Architects on educational projects and public works, including Ballajura Community College, Christchurch Grammar Schools Administration Centre & Library, Murdoch Universitys Small Animal Clinic, South West Winery and the Kings Park Education Building.

Seeking experience in integrating landscape design with architectural projects, Steven worked in the Perth and Thailand office of TIERRA Design under the directorship of Martin Palleros as a Senior Associate including both architectural and landscapes for residential, hotel and civic projects in Australia, Thailand, Hungary, Singapore and India. Notable projects with TIERRA include landscapes for the Perth Old Treasury Building + Foundation Plaza, Perth City Library & Plaza, Aman Hotel in New Dehli, Twin Palms Hotel, Twin Palms Yamu in Phuket and a number of private residential landscapes.

Steven is currently involved with numerous landscape projects in Perth, including single and multi-residential, hotel projects Health and Aged Care landscape projects. He is also working as a design partner on a number of international projects with TIERRA Design’s Director, Martin Palleros and TIERRA team in Thailand.

Outside of office, Steven is a husband to Melanie April and parent of four to Ariel Lily, Charis Olivia, Anastasia Zoe Pieternella + Ethan Marinus and son to Gerardus and Beverley.
